I joined Google+ a few months ago as an individual, but it hasn’t been until the recent launch of Google+ Pages that I began investing time in the exploring the Google+ community and tool set. Google+ is a bit more complicated than Facebook or Twitter, but already a significant source of traffic to this blog, and like most communities that get a lot of initial buzz, the growth rate of new followers is exponentially much faster during the early adoption phase. It’s definitely been worth the time investment thus far.

There are many other early adopters blazing a trail through Google+ and below are 22 that are useful to nonprofits and worthy of a Google+ Circle all their own. That said, it’s worth noting that Google+ Page admins can add other pages to their circles, but page admins can only add followers of its page to their circles. In other words, people must first add your page to their circles before you can add them to your circles. That means you’ll want to add the 22 resources listed below to your personal circles first. It also means, strategically speaking, that if you want your personal followers to grow, you’ll need to add the pages that you want to add you or the page admins have no way of adding your personal profile to their circles. Confused? No worries. It’s a new tool, a tad complex (but smart and solid), and we’re all still figuring it out. I’ll have a webinar ready for you on Google+ and Google Products by February 28. 🙂
