As production begins on the fourth edition of the Global NGO Technology Report, Nonprofit Tech for Good is thrilled to announce that a new sponsor has been secured. In early August 2018, Nonprofit Tech for Good published an open call for sponsors and after six weeks of interviews, Funraise (located in Long Beach, CA) has been selected as the new sponsor. In the end, it came to down to three potential sponsors – all of which were top-caliber organizations with strong ties to the global NGO community, but the can-do, start-up mentality of the staff at Funraise – combined with their passion and understanding of the value of the research – is what gave Funraise the edge.
Even better news is that Funraise will also sponsor the third edition of the Global Trends in Giving Report. The two reports are sister reports and the data is meant to be compared and contrasted, so both reports just took a huge leap forward.
“Funraise was quite literally born out of the nonprofit space, and as we work to build the best technology for these organizations, our commitment to providing the industry with thoughtful and thorough data is something we take very seriously. We’ve come across and utilized the Global NGO Technology Report many times, and after meeting Heather it felt like a partnership that HAD to happen. We are thrilled and honored to be a part of this exceptional effort and the community the reports support.”
– Meagan Kirkpatrick, Head of Partnerships, IR and Communications, Funraise
One change worth noting is that the Global NGO Technology Report and the Global Trends in Giving Report will move to a biennial schedule, alternating years between them. The tech report will be published in odd years and the giving report in even years. This new publication schedule will benefit the quality of the research, our ability to secure new partners, and grow the survey respondents to over 10,000. We – Funraise, Nonprofit Tech for Good, Bureau for Good, and our partners – can now dedicate one full year to producing the best research report possible.

A Final Note: The Public Interest Registry – the nonprofit responsible for managing the .org., .ngo, and .ong domains – has generously supported the Global NGO Technology Report and Global Trends in Giving Report since 2015. Recent organizational changes prompted PIR to end their sponsorship of the reports in June, however, Nonprofit Tech for Good and the global NGO community will always appreciate their support.
